Isla
de Tavira
Attractive, sandy island reached by frequent
ferryboats from the mainland. |

|
It’s
about an hours drive from Ferragudo to Tavira, leaving the A22
motorway at junction 16 and continuing 4 km along the N270 signposted
Tavira. Follow signs for Centro, passing this delightfully pretty
old town. Upon reaching the river, turn right southwards, signposted
Praia. Continue along riverside past the salt flats and at the
end park wherever possible.
Continue by foot to ferry pontoon at the end of the road. The
ferries leave frequently but have no set timetable. Tickets
cost €1 each return and are bought on the boat. Check time
of last boat or you may have to pay for a boat taxi! |
