Beaches
Please remember there are often no beach
bars or toilets at these beaches, remember order for your chilled
picnic and drinks box and sunshade, and leave behind only your foot
prints.
At presnt there
are manny improvments beeing undertaken to the beach access, these
directions may have changed.
- Isla
de Tavira
Attractive, sandy island reached by frequent ferryboats
from the mainland.
- Vale
de Figueiras
Long sandy West Coast beach. Often ideal for surfing.
- Praias
de Amado & Carrapeteira
Two sandy, West Coast beaches surrounded by cliffs.
Often ideal for surfing.
- Meia
Praia
A long sandy beach with dunes behind providing shelter from
any winds.
- Cabanas
Velhas
A Large, sandy bay with plenty of
rocks and undulating cliffs to provide shelter, well frequented
by naturists from the nearby campsite, which has a small
area dedicated to naturist campers.
- Furnas
A very well sheltered beach from all but southerly winds.
- Praia
da Afurada
Probably the most beautiful beach in the world. Suitable
for mountain goats and those with a head for heights.
- Barrill
A fascinating journey to a naturist beach with all amenities.
